I survived (and lovingly battle): The aftermath of sexual assault. I was raped at 18 and for many years afterward struggled to connect to my body in any meaningful way. With a lot of support from friends and a fantastic therapist I’ve made a lot of progress!
My favorite mantra: I am enough (thank you to Rachel Tenny for that one)
When did you first realize you were struggling to connect with your body? What was your first line of action when it came to conquering it?
What does your battle look and feel like?
My struggle isn’t something that looks a certain way anymore, but is more an awareness. Thankfully I got the therapy I so deeply needed and worked through my grief, terror and feelings of worthlessness. They definitely still creep in, but when they do I combat them with things like yoga, therapy, walks in the sunshine and crying when I need to.
