there i said. pampering is a 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 of self-care, yes, but some of your faves got you out here thinking at-home spa days are the only way to self-care and it is a whole ass lie.⁠

self-care is you putting you first. it's intentional actions implemented to help you better manage your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. it's you making it a priority to take care of your mind, body, and soul and in doing so, you better equip yourself to cope with daily stressors, traumas, and my personal favorites, the unexpected.⁠

for some, it very well could be a spa-day, because we absolutely deserve indulgences and pampering, but for a lot of us, it's setting boundaries, scheduling alone time, finding a therapist, or simply making sure we get enough sleep to function the next day.⁠

self-care looks different for everyone. it 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 look different for everyone. but please, for the love of yourself, do not get sucked into labeling self-care as a luxury + do not be naive enough to think buying some bath bombs is going to get you right. it won't.⁠

this was actually a concept for a monday newsletter i never could find the time to write or record in 2019. i tried it out last year too, but something didn't feel right about it then either. but this year, it has a whole new meaning and foundation to it. ⁣⁠

the 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙮𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞 deck is all about the return home to one's self because that's been my journey for some time now. ⁣⁠

‣ on each card, you will find a mini-love letter written from me to you paired with an affirmation, journal prompt, or mirror talk activity. ⁣⁠

‣ they're designed to provide you a little pep talk for when you need it, and they're accompanied by an action item to help you integrate each message and lesson into your day-to-day.⁣⁠

each love note is adapted from journal entries and pep talks I have given myself since the age of 16, so when I say this deck is personal and vulnerable, please believe me 😅.⁣⁠

all she wanted for her milestone birthday was to celebrate it with her mummy + her sisters in the UK... and she did just that.⁣

you are the glue that holds us all together. i don't know how you do it, but you do and we're so grateful. it is your love that keeps me afloat. your cheerleading that helped me to step out on faith in myself. your essence that reminds me on the hardest of days that i am loved.⁣
